Zone details
Area covered
Krakow SCT covers a large part of the city, approximately 60% of its area. Avoiding the historic centre alone does not ensure the route stays outside.
Vehicle details
Establish the fuel, emissions standard and category. Where the city permits a manufacture-year alternative, do not automatically substitute first registration date.
A standard accepted by another Polish SCT may not suffice here. Use the particular city and the date of the visit.
Foreign plates and exemptions
A foreign vehicle may not be verifiable through the same domestic register as a Polish vehicle. Follow the city’s instructions for documentation or registration and allow processing time.
Resident and other exemptions have separate requirements. An entitlement for a Polish resident cannot automatically be applied to a visitor.
Preparing your trip
Compare the vehicle documents with the current stage of restrictions and keep any registration or exemption confirmation.
If the vehicle is not eligible, check whether the city permits a transitional paid entry or park outside. There is no universal sticker that automatically opens every Polish SCT.
Registering a foreign vehicle
A foreign-registered vehicle must be entered in Krakow’s system even if it meets the emissions conditions. Apply in advance and verify confirmation for the correct plate.
Local exemptions and transitional paid-entry options exist for certain non-compliant vehicles. Check eligibility for the particular date and vehicle; these arrangements are not automatically valid in other Polish SCTs.
