Emissions stickers and vehicle registration
Germany and France use physical emissions stickers. Many other schemes check information attached to the registration number. There is no single European sticker.
Where to order an emissions sticker

France — Crit’Air
Official French portal
Order for a foreign vehicle using its registration documents. The Crit’Air category determines which local ZFE conditions it can meet.
Order Crit’Air
Germany — Umweltplakette
GreenStickerGermany.com
A green sticker issued for the current registration number. It is valid across German Umweltzonen; separate diesel restrictions still need checking.

You normally need a clear registration document, correct registration number, category, fuel and emissions details. Check the issuer’s exact requirements: evidence accepted by one scheme may not suffice for another.
Where registration replaces a sticker
- Belgium: Brussels has a separate register from Antwerp and Ghent.
- Denmark: some older foreign diesels need their technical data registered.
- Spain: local registration may be needed, including in Barcelona.
- London: TfL may require foreign emissions details to be documented.
- Krakow: register a foreign vehicle in the local SCT system.
Does one sticker cover every country?
No. Germany’s Umweltplakette and France’s Crit’Air are separate systems. A city recognising another emissions classification can still require its own registration. Check the destination rules before buying.
