Zone details

Area covered

The zone covers all 19 municipalities of the Brussels region, excluding the R0 ring road and specified access routes.

Emissions and foreign registration

Compliant emissions do not remove a separate registration obligation. Czech plates must be registered; use the official instructions for your vehicle’s registration country. Registration is free and valid for five years.

Register before entry or within five days afterwards, and keep confirmation. An application submitted with an incorrect registration number does not document the right vehicle.

Day passes and penalties

A qualifying non-compliant vehicle can use a €35 day pass, subject to the limit of 24 days per vehicle per year. Check the date and all conditions.

Brussels distinguishes emissions violations from failure to register. The published penalties are €350 for a non-compliant vehicle and €150 for failure to register a compliant foreign vehicle. Special 2026 warning arrangements are limited to the categories concerned.
