Zone details

Area covered

The national overview lists Rijswijk with a milieuzone for diesel lorries and buses. Check their boundaries and standards; these are not automatically passenger-car requirements.

Affected vehicles

The national overview distinguishes passenger diesels, lorries, buses and other categories. A heavy-vehicle zone does not in itself ban an ordinary petrol or diesel passenger car.

For a lorry or bus, compare its recorded category and emissions class with the local requirements. The zone need not cover the entire city.

Foreign vehicles

The rules also cover vehicles registered abroad. Have the fuel, category and emissions details ready; a Dutch registration checker may not support a foreign number.

Obtain any exemption under the city’s own procedure. German and French stickers do not replace the Dutch conditions.

Different from a logistics zone

A milieuzone and a zero-emissiezone are separate schemes. They can have different boundaries, affected categories and transition periods.

Eligibility for a conventional milieuzone does not establish access to every zero-emission logistics zone.
